Prada has added a new perfume to its Paradoxe collection, and there is another big change alongside it. Zendaya is now the global face of Prada Paradoxe, making her debut with the new Prada Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry Eau de Parfum.
The fragrance is due for its wider launch on 28 August 2026, with blackcurrant syrup, orange blossom and a milky neroli accord forming the main scent profile. Prada's UAE website has already added Sweet Chemistry to its Paradoxe page, making the launch particularly relevant for perfume shoppers in the Emirates.

Prada Beauty lists 10 ml, 30 ml, 50 ml and 90 ml bottles alongside a 100 ml refill. The brand also confirms that the Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry range is refillable.
The name gives you a fair idea of the direction Prada has taken, but this is not simply the original Paradoxe with extra sugar added.
Blackcurrant syrup comes first. This should give the opening a darker berry character rather than the pear-led opening found in the original Prada Paradoxe.
The middle is built around orange blossom absolute, a note already closely linked with the Paradoxe range. It keeps some connection with the original fragrance while allowing the berry note to stand apart.
The most interesting change appears in the base. Prada has paired neroli with a milk accord, giving the familiar citrus-floral note a creamier finish. Prada officially describes the fragrance as fruity floral, with these three accords forming the main structure.
Early reactions from perfume wearers have varied, which is normal for a release this new. Some notice the blackcurrant strongly at the beginning, while others find the orange blossom becomes much more noticeable after the opening. The milky effect also appears to be fairly smooth rather than smelling like literal milk. There are still too few long-term reviews to make firm claims about performance.

The original Prada Paradoxe Eau de Parfum uses pear, bergamot, neroli, orange blossom, amber, vanilla and white musk. Sweet Chemistry cuts the idea down to a more focused combination built around blackcurrant, orange blossom and neroli milk.
That means someone familiar with Paradoxe should still recognise the orange blossom and neroli connection, while the blackcurrant and milk accord change the overall character.
It also makes Sweet Chemistry quite different from Paradoxe Radical Essence, which went in a nuttier direction with salted pistachio and sandalwood. Sweet Chemistry brings fruit back to the centre of the composition instead.
The fragrance launch also marks a major change for Prada Beauty.
On 29 July 2026, Prada announced Zendaya as the new global ambassador for the Paradoxe fragrance line. Her first campaign for the collection centres on Sweet Chemistry and was directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins.
There is also a genuine link between Zendaya and the perfume line. She told Vogue that she had already been introduced to Prada fragrances through one of her close friends before the partnership happened. Harper's Bazaar reported that she had been wearing Paradoxe for more than a year before Prada approached her.
That makes the appointment feel less random than the usual celebrity campaign where a famous face appears beside a bottle for one season.
Zendaya also replaces the previous era of Paradoxe advertising associated with Emma Watson, giving Prada a new face as the fragrance collection continues to grow.
Prada Beauty currently lists 28 August 2026 for the launch of Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry.
For UAE shoppers, there is a good sign already: the official Prada UAE website has added Sweet Chemistry to its Paradoxe fragrance page, including the fragrance description and its main notes.
As of 26 August, however, Sweet Chemistry does not yet appear among the individual fragrance products listed for sale on Prada's UAE fragrance shop. Because of that, it would be safer to treat 28 August as the main launch date while allowing for small differences in local stock arrival between UAE retailers.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi usually receive major designer fragrance launches quickly, but availability can still differ between online stores and physical branches.
The UAE spends much of the year dealing with high temperatures, while offices, malls and restaurants are heavily air-conditioned. A perfume can therefore behave quite differently during an outdoor afternoon compared with several hours indoors.
Blackcurrant syrup and a creamy milk accord suggest that Sweet Chemistry may feel richer in strong heat than some of the fresher Paradoxe versions. Starting with a moderate number of sprays would make sense during the warmer months, especially before spending time outdoors.
For evenings, indoor events and the cooler part of the year, the sweeter profile may be easier to wear more generously.
It is still too early to give a reliable UAE-specific longevity figure. Claims such as "12 hours" or "all-day performance" would be guesswork at this stage. Skin type, temperature and how much is applied will all make a difference.

Sweet Chemistry keeps the triangular Paradoxe bottle but uses a new pink-purple colour treatment.
More importantly, the perfume is refillable. Prada says the full Sweet Chemistry range has been designed for refilling, with a 100 ml refill bottle available alongside the regular sizes.
For UAE shoppers who finish larger bottles regularly, that is useful because buying a refill avoids replacing the full bottle every time.
Sweet Chemistry makes the most sense for someone who already likes fruity florals but wants something with more body than a fresh daytime perfume.
Fans of the original Paradoxe should also try it, although buying without testing simply because you like the original may not be the best idea. Blackcurrant syrup and the milk accord change the balance enough to make Sweet Chemistry its own fragrance.
People who usually find sweet perfumes heavy in the UAE weather should test it before buying a large bottle. The 10 ml and 30 ml sizes could be more practical starting points once they become available locally.
Prada Paradoxe has become a large fragrance collection since the original arrived in 2022, and Sweet Chemistry takes it in another direction without removing the neroli and orange blossom connection that runs through the range.
The bigger story around this release is also Zendaya. Prada has chosen one of the most recognisable names in fashion and film to represent Paradoxe going forward, and Sweet Chemistry is the fragrance introducing that partnership.
For UAE perfume buyers, the wait should not be long. The official international release is set for 28 August 2026, and Prada UAE is already promoting the fragrance on its website.

Prada Beauty lists 28 August 2026 as the launch date. Prada UAE has already added Sweet Chemistry to its Paradoxe page, but as of 26 August it was not yet listed for sale, so expect small differences in when stock reaches UAE retailers.
Three accords: blackcurrant syrup on top, orange blossom absolute in the heart and a neroli milk accord in the base. Prada classes it as a fruity floral.
The original opens with pear and bergamot and finishes on amber, vanilla and white musk. Sweet Chemistry swaps the pear for blackcurrant syrup and pairs neroli with a milk accord, so it is darker in the opening and creamier in the base while keeping the orange blossom link.
10 ml, 30 ml, 50 ml and 90 ml, plus a 100 ml refill. The whole range is refillable. The 10 ml and 30 ml sizes are the practical starting points if you want to test it in UAE heat first.
