Antonio Puig Perfumes carries the name of the man who started one of Spain's biggest beauty companies. Antonio Puig founded the brand in Barcelona in 1914, and his family still runs it today. Puig now owns a long list of famous perfume houses, but the bottles that wear the Puig name are the old-school men's classics.
The oldest is Agua Brava, launched in 1968. It's a woody chypre eau de cologne with lavender, lemon, bergamot, juniper and sage up top, the kind of clean, barbershop smell a lot of men grew up around. Ours is the 500 ml bottle, so it lasts, and a cologne is made to be splashed on after a shower rather than dabbed. Then there's Quorum from 1981, a woody aromatic EDT that opens with artemisia, caraway and citrus and dries down to tobacco and leather. It's bolder than Agua Brava and better for evenings.
