L’Ambre des Merveilles Limited Edition Collector is the 2014 collector release of the amber fragrance in the Merveilles line, composed by Jean-Claude Ellena. Its published note list is the same four notes as the standard 2012 L’Ambre des Merveilles.
The composition is built around amber, vanilla, labdanum, and patchouli. Those four are published as one list with no opening, heart, or base assigned, so nothing here claims an order for them.
Four materials, and two of them are doing the same job. Amber in perfumery is almost never a single ingredient. Perfumers build it as an accord, and labdanum, the resin from the rockrose, is one of the main things they build it from. So this list puts the accord and one of its own components side by side as separate entries. That is normal for this style: the labdanum adds to the amber accord and makes the resinous, slightly leathery, sweet-balsamic side stronger than an amber alone would give you. Vanilla pushes it sweeter. Patchouli is the only thing in the list pulling the other way. Just the one.
