He subsequently began his career at age 17 under Christian Dior, who passed away four years later, leaving Henri to temporarily head the Dior brand. After briefly serving in the Algerian War of Independence, Henri went on to become a mainstream fashion designer, renowned for excelling in the design of women’s wear, developing the exciting trend of tuxedos for women.
