Prada perfumes for men are the quiet ones. No cannon blast on the opening, no note list designed to be read out loud, just an Italian house that has released roughly one men's fragrance every two years since 2006 and has never once chased a trend properly.
I wore these five across a Riyadh winter and a Jeddah summer, and the ranking that came out of it is not the one the shelf display suggests. One of them was clearly made for this part of the world. Two of them are not.

The everyday workhorse

Carbon came out in 2017 and it is the Luna Rossa that Saudi men actually end up wearing on a Tuesday. Daniela Roche Andrier built it around a metallic lavender, which sounds strange until you smell it. Bergamot and pepper open sharp, then the lavender arrives with a cold mineral edge Prada describes as coal and wet soil, and ambroxan with patchouli holds the base together.
Seven to eight hours on skin with moderate projection, and that mineral character means it does not turn sour in Riyadh heat the way sweeter fougeres do. This is the office bottle, the Thursday errands bottle, the one that lives in the car. Honest gripe: the ambroxan is loud for the first ten minutes, and if you have worn Dior Sauvage you will clock the family resemblance straight away, so nobody is going to ask you what it is. If you want the same clean idea with more warmth, keep reading, because the next bottle does exactly that.
The clean formal one

L'Homme arrived in 2016 as the men's half of a pair released alongside La Femme, and Andrier centered it on iris, which is both unusual and expensive in a men's designer scent. Neroli, black pepper, cardamom and carrot seed open it dry and slightly spicy, then iris, violet and geranium take over and give it that pressed shirt, just showered quality, with amber, cedar and sandalwood underneath.
Six to eight hours with close projection, and it reads expensive rather than loud. Wear it to a work meeting in Khobar, to a nikah, to any room where you want to smell put together without announcing yourself. The gripe is real though. Plenty of people find it soapy to the point of smelling like good hand wash, and it sits close enough to the skin that in a crowded Eid gathering it can disappear entirely. Anyone who has worn Dior Homme will recognize the iris immediately. The V Perfumes team keeps the 100ml in the men's bestsellers, and L'Homme Intense is on the same shelf if you want the same signature with more weight behind it.
For the hottest months

This is where most of the confusion around Prada sits, so it is worth being precise. The eau de toilette launched in 2021 and was made by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim, not by Daniela Roche Andrier, and the eau de parfum that followed in 2023 is a different scent built on grapefruit and vanilla. The EDT is an aromatic fougere: bergamot, pink pepper and artemisia up top, then lavender, iris, sage, suede and saffron, over musk, caramel, Haitian vetiver and patchouli.
Five to seven hours in the worst of the summer, which is honest rather than impressive, and that is the trade you accept for something this easy to wear when the car thermometer stops being funny. It is a Jeddah corniche evening bottle and a July commute bottle. Gripe: it sits very close to every other blue fragrance on the shelf, and the caramel in the base goes a little sweet on hot skin. One spray, then leave it alone rather than topping up. V Perfumes carries the 100ml, and it is the size that makes sense given how freely you will use it.
For winter evenings

Black arrived in 2018 as the seventh Luna Rossa, and it is the one that dropped the lavender the rest of the line is built on. Andrier put bergamot on top, angelica and patchouli through the heart, then coumarin, amber and musk in the base. Coumarin is what most people are actually smelling here: that soft, sweet, tonka-adjacent powder that clings to a jacket long after you have taken it off.
Eight to ten hours on skin and considerably more on fabric, and it is a different animal from Carbon and Ocean. Save it for cold Riyadh evenings, a winter wedding, dinner somewhere with a coat check. Two honest points. It has been reformulated over the years and the current version reads sweeter than older bottles, so if you tried it back in 2019 do not assume it is the same juice. And it is powdery in a way some men read as feminine, which is worth knowing before you commit to 100ml. Smell it properly at the V Perfumes counter first.
The one for the majlis

Amber Pour Homme from 2006 was Prada's first men's fragrance, and twenty years later it is still the one Gulf buyers come back to. Andrier built it in layers: a citrus cologne opening of neroli, cardamom, bergamot and mandarin, a soapy heart of myrrh, orange blossom, geranium and vetiver, and a base of saffron, vanilla, labdanum, tonka bean, leather, sandalwood and patchouli.
That soap and amber contrast is the exact register that works next to bakhoor and oud, which is why it landed here far better than it ever did in Europe. Eight to ten hours on skin, longer on a thobe. Wear it to a majlis, to Eid prayers, to a long family evening. The honest warning is the biggest one on this list. It has been reformulated more than once and long-time wearers say the current version is lighter than the original, so smell the bottle in front of you before you buy rather than buying on memory.
All five of these sit in the men's perfume section at V Perfumes Saudi Arabia, online and in store, so you can smell three of them side by side in one visit instead of guessing from a note list.
Smell them side by side
Three sprays, twenty minutes, one decision. The full men's range is online and in store across KSA.
Shop men's perfumes →Luna Rossa Ocean EDT first, Luna Rossa Carbon second. Both are aromatic fougeres that stay clean rather than going sweet when the temperature climbs. Amber Pour Homme and Black are winter scents here and will feel heavy in a Jeddah August.
Luna Rossa Black, at eight to ten hours, partly because it is the only eau de parfum in this group. Concentration matters: an EDP carries more fragrance oil than an EDT, which is why Black and the Ocean EDP outlast the toilette versions. Amber Pour Homme runs close behind on fabric.
No, and this trips people up constantly. The EDT came out in 2021 from Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim and is a lavender and citrus fougere. The EDP came out in 2023 and is built on grapefruit, incense and vanilla. They share a name and a bottle shape and very little else, so do not buy one expecting the other.
Amber Pour Homme, without question. Its saffron, leather and labdanum base sits next to oud instead of arguing with it. Black works too if you keep the bakhoor light. Carbon and Ocean are the wrong pairing entirely, since their mineral freshness turns muddy against smoke.
