Libre Eau de Parfum is a floral lavender perfume for women from Yves Saint Laurent, and the bottle is refillable. At V Perfumes, YSL Libre comes in 50ml and 90ml.

It opens bright and a little tart. Petitgrain, black currant, French lavender oil and mandarin oil come first, then jasmin sambac, orange blossom and Indian jasmine fill out the heart, with lavender coming back in there too, before a base of cedar wood, ambergris, musk and Madagascar vanilla takes over.

Lavender shows up twice. French lavender oil sits at the top, and lavender appears again in the heart. Most perfumes lose their lavender within the first half hour, because it is a light and fast-to-fade material, but here it gets a second run next to the white flowers, so you still smell it after the citrus has gone. Lavender is a classic men's barbershop note, and YSL sets it against orange blossom and two kinds of jasmine. With sambac and Indian jasmine both in the heart, the floral side outweighs the lavender.
